Food Fibers
Food fiber, also known as roughage or bulk, includes the parts of plant foods your body can't digest or absorb. Unlike other food components, such as fats, proteins, or carbohydrates — which your body breaks down and absorbs — fiber isn't digested by your body. There is strong evidence that eating plenty of fibre (commonly referred to as roughage) is associated with a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and bowel cancer. Choosing foods with fibre (Polydextrose, Beta glucans, etc.) also makes us feel fuller, while a diet rich in fibre can help digestion and prevent constipation.
